At Lexington250, Dolly Hancock is one of our favorite female icons. In honor of International Women’s Month, we created this awesome design. You’ve probably heard of John Hancock, but have you heard of Dolly?
Dolly Hancock wanted to get her dad from Boston the morning of the battle. So she told John Hancock (they were engaged, not married), and he essentially said, “Absolutely not. You can’t do that, it’s too dangerous.” Then she said, “Recollect, Mr. Hancock, you’re not under my control yet.”
