The Lexington Olympics
Hi history nerds, and athletes too! Today, we’re introducing the ✨Lexington olympics✨. A special type of olympics based around our town of Lexington, Massachusetts. The Lexington olympics will consist of many activities, such as running, biking, swimming, and so much more. But we are missing one thing- athletes. We need you to participate in our local olympics. It might not be Paris, but it will be fun. We will be posting about how you can be a part of these fantastic games!
Here’s how it works; do an event, post a picture/video of you participating, and then tag us on Instagram or Threads. We will have some prizes for our medalists… so if that sounds like something of interest to you, make sure to tag along! If you have an event that you would like to submit, please DM us on our instagram, @lexington250. We will also be doing some of these challenges, so please check out our instagram!
Here are the events:
Running the Lexington mile: consisting of four laps around the Lexington Battle Green.
The midnight bike ride: ride from the Uncle Sam statue in Arlington, all the way to the Hancock Clarke house.
Fun in the res: go to your local swimming spot, and swim 1600 meters/yards!
Colonial cartwheels: create your own gymnastics routine, and perform it on the green. Bonus points for colonial music!
The Lexington Marathon: run 5 across Lexington trails consecutively!
Canons go swish: play basketball in a tricorn hat.
We hope you enjoy, and LET THE GAMES BEGIN!
Make sure to follow us on Instagram, @lexington250!
