The CNS Yellow Balloon Fair is coming up!
Hey history nerds! Every year, on the second Saturday of May, on Mass Ave way past Buckman Tavern and Battle Green, are tons, and tons of cars. They are filled with excited kids from 2 year olds to even 10 year olds. They’re on their way to the Yellow Balloon Fair.
The Yellow Balloon Fair is a fundraiser for Community Nursery School, or as most people refer to it, CNS. Yellow Balloon Fair has tons of activities for kids who are in younger elementary school or preschool. There are highlights from life sized candy land, to gnome hunting, to arts and crafts station.
I went to Community Nursery School, and when I was in preschool and kindergarten, the Yellow Balloon Fair was the highlight of my year. I always wanted to help out and volunteer, and you have to be in 4th grade and older to. But 4th grade for me was covid, so I wasn’t able to go. But when I was in 6th grade and it was finally back on, I was so excited. This is a great way to get involved with the greater Lexington community! The link to volunteer is here.
